Veterans Across America TM (VAA) is an employment initiative of the nonprofit organization, The Center for Military and Private Sector Initiatives. Based in New York, Veterans Across America is dedicated to helping veterans compete for quality employment and to educating employers about the value that veterans represent as a labor force. VAA is currently focused on helping wounded, disabled and homeless veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, particularly women and people of color.TM

Above are three short videos about Veterans Across America: (1) A personal message from Dr. Ray Healey, Executive Director of VAA, about "Six Months to Success"; (2) Excerpts from a House Veterans Affairs Committee hearing organized by VAA; (3) Footage of wounded and disabled veterans at a conference at which VAA provided employment advocacy and guidance.
We have launched our Veterans Across America "Champion Mentors" initiative because we believe it is the single most powerful program we can deploy to arm unemployed and under-employed veterans with the tools they need to compete for quality employment, or start businesses.
Our Champion Mentors initiative is an integral part of our "Six Months to Success" veterans employment plan, which uses business mentors, education programs and employment conferences/boot camps to jump start veteran employment.
Our founding principle is simple. We are asking each one of our Champion Mentors to team-up, one-on-one, with an unemployed or under-employed mentor, with a special focus on veterans who are wounded, disabled or homeless. We are asking our mentors not to provide a job to the mentees they work with, but to put their personal "networks" at the disposal of the veteran mentees, so that the veteran job-seekers or entrepreneurs can follow smart "networking" leads and find their own paths to success.
This used to be called "the old boy network". We have redubbed it the Veterans Champion Network (VCN). Please click here for more information:
